Project Description

Cultural Tour to Phezulu Safari Park

Thanks for choosing South African Trails and Tales for exploring the richness of the Zulu culture at Phezulu Safari Park. It is situated in the magnificent Valley of a Thousand Hills, and offers wonderful panoramic views of the area.

You will be collected at 9 am at the hotel and then taken on a half hour journey through scenic topography up to the Safari Park in Botha’s Hill.

On arrival we will be shown to the dancing arena, were you will be hosted to a traditional Zulu dancing, drumming and singing show. This starts at 10am, and is set against the beautiful backdrop of the valley below.

On completion of this half hour show, we will be taken on a tour of the rural Zulu homestead, showing their way of life, culture and tradition. This will entail entering into their beehive huts and sampling local umqombthi beer while giving you insight into the societal roles of both Zulu men and women.

The reptile and snake park is next, were we will be able to see and hold certain of the reptiles on show. This 20 minute show takes you through the different stages of crocodile development and a walk amongst some of the regional and exotic snakes on show.

We will then make our way back down to the hotel. You will be dropped off at the hotel at 1pm, ready for the next exciting episode of your trip!
